Bernard Parsons - Chief Executive Officer
A co-founder of Becrypt with 25+ years' experience in software companies spanning robotics, embedded systems and telecommunications. Over the last decade or so, Bernard's focus has been high-assurance security technology within innovative security software start-ups.
Appointed CEO of Becrypt in 2008, he also chairs and supports a number of standards and industry trade associations, through which he has contributed to evolving government assurance processes and policies.
Previously, as CTO and frequent public speaker, Bernard drew upon his research and lecturing background, having gained a doctorate in robotics, and lectured in computer science at Middlesex University, London.
Steve Bellamy - Non-Executive Chairman
Steve has over 28 years of experience in managing and investing in high growth and turn around businesses. He is also chairman of Benefex Limited and non-executive director of Advanced Medical Solutions Group plc, has been chairman and non-executive director of various other private and public companies and an advisor to the private equity industry, in addition to being a founder of Accretion Capital, a specialist technology investment business.
His previous roles include being COO and CFO for Sherwood International plc from 1994 to 2001 and, prior to that, UK investment director of Brierley Investments and worked at Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC) in New Zealand and New York. He trained as a chartered accountant in New Zealand.
John Colwell - Chief Financial Officer
John is responsible for finance, HR, production and IT at Becrypt with extensive financial and commercial experience in the technology sector.
Prior to joining Becrypt in 2012, John held several senior international finance positions with global software businesses, Xchanging plc and Misys plc, including a number of years working in New York and Dublin. John qualified as a chartered accountant with Ernst & Young.
Gary Thomas - Chief Operating Officer
Gary was the original seed investor in Becrypt and joined the board as a non-executive director in 2005. He became a full time member of the management team in 2009 and is currently responsible for UK Sales, Engineering and Customer Support. During this period, Gary has made a significant contribution to Becrypt's commercial and operational activities.
Prior to Becrypt, Gary spent 20 years in the interest rate derivatives market, becoming a director of Fuji Capital Markets (London), before spending four years as head of trading in their Hong Kong office. Since leaving the city in 2002, Gary has been an active investor in a number of start-up companies.
