Solutions Engineer

Hybrid (London office / remote) with travel


Responsible for:  Solution design, pre-sales engagements, training and consultancy.

The individual will play a key role in the overall success of Becrypt. A primary responsibility is working closely with the sales team to articulate the technical and business value for our solutions to prospective customers and partners. Once engaged the role will require working
with the customer or partners to design and deliver the solution, supporting integration, owning and evolving the technical relationship and providing training and professional services as required to ensure success.

The successful candidate must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with
changing priorities. They must also be able to travel as needed to attend customer and partner

Principle duties:

  • Provide technical leadership and industry expertise, both internally and with partners and customers;
  • Provide thought leadership content to support marketing and sales activities;
  • Drive business development;
  • Drive technical evaluations, pilots and proof of concepts;
  • Respond competitively to technical responses for RFIs/RFPs from customers or channel partners;
  • Deliver customised product demonstrations at customer/partner meetings and calls, and other marketing conferences and seminars;
  • Support prospective clients through the sales cycle by providing pre-sales technical support on all aspects of the product’s architecture design, integration, operation and use;
  • Escalate and manage technical issues through product management and engineering, in order to deliver deal closure and subsequent customer success;
  • Advise product management on current and future client needs, providing input to product direction;
  • Engage, train and support Becrypt partners and customers in territory to expand sales coverage and drive market awareness; and,
  • Mutually agreed ad-hoc tasks.

Essential Skills:

  • Significant, successful experience as a Solutions Engineer or in a traditional Technical Pre-Sales role;
  • Strong and up to date technical understanding of Microsoft technologies;
  • Technical experience and understanding of data security, risk analysis and an understanding of the different threat models in the information security space;
  • Theoretical knowledge of cryptography and a working knowledge of both symmetric and asymmetric encryption;
  • Experience in installation and configuration of a variety of security products;
  • Recent experience with VDI environments, preferably in both VMWare and Citrix;
  • High level Linux (Unix) configuration including networking, firewall and VPN configuration;
  • Experience with data encryption and end point security solutions;
  • Experience using Cloud platforms, ideally AWS and Azure;
  • Experience with Docker and micro-services orchestration technology;
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation skills;
  • Sharp troubleshooting and problem solving abilities;
  • Self-starter, able to self-manage and work effectively from a remote office or from home
  • Strategic thinker;
  • Quantifiable past success in supporting the achievement of sales quota;
  • Demonstrable success of using initiative and creativity in the development of solutions for partners and customers;
  • Committed to continuous professional self-development;
  • Positive, can-do attitude.
