BeCrypt Limited was formed in 2001 to meet the growing demand for high-level encryption products in the personal computer and PDA marketplace.

Our corporate philosophy is simple. We aim to provide the best encryption and security products available, to fully protect all computer users. We protect customers in a number of key Government areas, including Central Government, Defence, Law Enforcement, and Customs and Excise. We are also active in the corporate sector, with key customers in Financial Services, Pharmaceuticals, Insurance, and Banking. Our products have been successfully designed to meet stringent government security policy and standards whilst maintaining the usability, ease of deployment and ease of management demanded by the corporate sector.

BeCrypt's core technology team has decades of experience of encryption security and software development, having previously worked with companies like Dr.Solomon's, Sophos, and RSA. Prior to founding BeCrypt, the team worked for Topsoft Limited, where they successfully obtained CAPS product certification for a range of products from the Communications-Electronics Security Group (CESG), the UK Government's Information Assurance group within GCHQ. Since formation, BeCrypt has built a management team with a wide range of experiences in the international software security and encryption market, as well as in global business development, international marketing, and sales.

Management Team:

Bernard Parsons, Chief Executive Officer
A co-founder of BeCrypt, Bernard draws upon a thorough understanding of both the security market and BeCrypt technology, having been Chief Technology Officer he was responsible for all aspects of product development. Bernard became CEO in 2008 and has led the company through significant growth, prior to BeCrypt, he held a range of development and management posts within the security industry. Bernard has a research and lecturing background, having gained a Doctorate in Robotics, and lectured in Computer Science.

Leslie Milne, Chief Financial Officer
Leslie joined BeCrypt in February 2004 to run the finance, human resources, legal and contractual, and general administration of the company. As well as being a board director he is also Company Secretary. Before joining BeCrypt Leslie was UK Finance Director for Mercury Interactive and European Controller for Segue, both software companies. Prior to Segue, Leslie held a variety of accounting posts within IT companies and FTSE 100 businesses. Leslie qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Certified Accountants in 1995.

Nigel Lee, Chief Research Officer
A co-founder of BeCrypt, Nigel is responsible for assessing new technology, future trends and innovations whilst handling technology partnerships with customers and partner organisations. Previously as Technical Director, Nigel was responsible for product architecture and design, for developing the customer support structure, and for managing consultancy work. Before founding BeCrypt Nigel held IT Technical and Managerial positions in a variety of organisations in the UK, Europe, and South East Asia.

Richard Brooks, Director of Sales, EMEA
Richard has spent 19 years working for a variety of software vendors, both start up and international organisations in the IT Industry. Richard has extensive experience in the IT Security Sector having spent 8 years with leading vendors. Richard has worked with the BeCrypt team for over 4 years and his responsibilities include commercial business development, UK & European channel partners, system integrator alliances and management of the pre-sales and sales teams to drive the growth of the business.

Steven Bessellieu, Chief Executive Officer, BeCrypt Inc
Based at BeCrypt's offices at the Chesapeake Innovation Center in Annapolis, Maryland, Steven is responsible for all North American operations including building the new sales and customer support functions in the American market. Steven brings many years of top level executive experience, before joining BeCrypt he was President of Sapiens Americas and a member of the Sapiens International Management Board. Previous to this, Steven held leadership positions at Sherwood International, where he was President of North America, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, where he was Senior Vice President of Global Financial Services, and a range of senior positions with ALFA Insurance Company, Deloitte & Touche and Unisys. He also completed a tour of duty with the United States Air Force. Steven has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (BSBA) from Auburn University and an MBA from the University.

Marc Hocking, Chief Technology Officer
Marc is a leading proponent of Information Assurance, with extensive government and global cross-border data security experience. Before joining BeCrypt Marc worked for the UK Government Cabinet Office where he worked closely with a various departments to develop solutions to support the delivery of a number of cross-government projects, and spent ten years in a variety of roles within global financial institutions working on systems that included PKI, authentication, authorisation, and privilege management infrastructure.

Ben Ross, Vice President of Marketing
Ben is responsible for Marketing activities globally which includes devising strategic market initiatives to strengthen BeCrypt’s leadership position within the UK market, as well as developing the brand and demand in the US and new markets. Prior to joining BeCrypt, Ben was with brand and communications agency Silver Worldwide, following a number of years as Director of Marketing (EMEA) for MessageLabs Ltd. where he was responsible for the customer, partner and new business marketing strategy and execution in the EMEA region. Ben started his career in marketing at Oracle UK Ltd, and spent several years in a variety of Marketing positions.
