MISTDLP signs first deal for Becrypt Trusted Client in UAE

End users able to access sensitive data safely even while working remotely, using unmanaged PCs, laptops and tablets

London, UK, 2 October 2012 MISTDLP, a specialist in cyber security and data loss prevention has today announced its successful implementation of Becrypt Trusted Client for a government department in UAE. Becrypt Trusted Client is now providing a secure remote working environment for mobile workers. The solution was selected for its ingenuity, ease of use and low cost of ownership including its central management capabilities. MISTDLP also provided customisation of the interface and staff training as part of the implementation package.

The adoption of Becrypt Trusted Client means that workers are now able to use unmanaged PCs, laptops and tablets in remote locations, to access the corporate network safely and securely. Trusted Client, which is carried on a USB stick, assumes that the host computer is compromised and restarts it, booting into a corporate OS image. This gives a trusted environment from the start that is totally isolated from the host computer’s OS. The host hard drive is not accessed so there is no danger of cross contamination of malicious code and no data can be saved locally which prevents data leakage. Users have limited access to only those network drives and files that they need to do their job and they are not able to install any additional applications.

Once MISTDLP had trained central administration staff in the use of Trusted Client they were able to configure the system and roll out to their end-users, who found the system extremely intuitive to use.

Since installation of Becrypt Trusted Client, the customer has significantly reduced the number of data loss incidents, and staff now have the freedom to work from any location, while still being able to access data securely.
